Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Dutch speaking Financial Controller to join our growing finance team located at our headquarters in Amsterdam. You will coordinate our monthly, quarterly, and annual procedures, including the audits, and the financial statements. If you are someone with broad professional experience, including (internal) auditing, at big four and/or large multinational organizations, we would like to hear from you. As our Financial Controller, you will work hands-on with the finance team daily for assigned entities (25+, located inside and outside the Netherlands) reporting accurately in accordance with applicable accounting rules.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports and interpret financial information to management while recommending further courses of action;
  • Ensure financial reconciliation;
  • Monitoring and reviewing of the general ledgers for the legal entities in our group;
  • Prepare (international) VAT and Income tax calculations;
  • Preparation of financial statements (Dutch GAAP) on consolidated group level as on local statutory level;
  • Manage external audits, both on consolidated level as on local statutory level;
  • Ad-hoc analysis and projects;
  • Collaborate with other finance teams to structurally strengthen our core of financial processes and improve automations of financial processes;
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision;
  • Support the finance team during month end and year end process to ensure all deadlines are met;
  • Manage and take ownership in our yearly KPMG audit process;

Qualifications:

  • HBO/University degree in Accounting;
  • Certification in relevant discipline (e.g., ACA, CIA, CPA, CISA etc., or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting and accounting;
  • In depth knowledge of bookkeeping in GL, AR and AP departments;
  • Knowledge or preparation of financial year end reports for larger companies;
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an international organization;
  • Superior written and oral presentation skills; ability to communicate and present to senior management;
  • Organized and eye for detail and accuracy.
