Ep.10 of CCtalks – Women in Tech and Business: The Inspiring Story of Christina Caljé

You are not defined or confined by your circumstances. I think that’s something that has really stuck with me from an early age and that always allows me to see through potential opportunities, even if there is something that doesn’t seem so easily achievable at the moment. That has really prepared me for being an entrepreneur. Christina Caljé, Co-Founder at Autheos | NL Winner – Google Founder Immersion Program | 2019 Most Inspiring Women in Tech | 2020 EUtop50 ‘Top Woman Entrepreneur’.

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to CCtalks and to the 10th episode.

As March is the month we celebrate International Women’s Day as well as Women History Month, we brought a very special guest to our podcast to talk about women in the Ad Tech field, the changes in the industry with regards to gender and gender equality, and also to inspire other women and future female leaders with her amazing story. We are talking about Christina Caljé.

Christina has been an entrepreneur in the London and Amsterdam tech scene for the past 8 years. Most recently she founded a media-tech company, Autheos, but she’s launched and scaled multiple B2B and B2C companies in CEO and COO positions. And before embarking on her career as a tech entrepreneur, she worked in financial services as an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in New York and London.

To name a few of her accolades, she was named by EUtop50 as ‘Top Woman Entrepreneur’, by Inspiring Fifty as one of the Netherlands’ most inspiring women in tech, by Silicon Canals as a ‘powerhouse female entrepreneur’ and by VIVA 400 as an ‘inspiring, ambitious woman who excels in the tech field’.

Now, she is expanding her focus to the investment space, partnering with industry and governmental organizations to address the funding gap of brown/black/female founders in Europe.

In our 10th episode, Christina accompanies us throughout her story, since its very beginnings in the East Village of New York City, where very few people had a chance to get a higher education and a better future. She tells us how having worked in male-dominated fields her entire professional life has fueled her and given her the boost to go on, no matter what, without listening to what others had to say to her just because she was a woman and a woman representing a minority. Moreover, she explains how she made the shift from the corporate world to the entrepreneurial one and what mentality she had to adopt to make this big change happen.
